Best Electric Skatebaords of 2020

With our eyes wide open, we saw how technological innovations shaped the future in the most engaging and peculiar way. A type of casual transportation as epic as the evolution of electric skateboards put the entire globe in awe. Sure, electric scooters and such could be your phenomenal type. But electric skateboards? That’s the real deal right there. I know some of you have seen a few riders down the street and you can’t deny how sick they looked roaming the alleys with that sweet thing. Today, you’re about to find out the best electric skateboards in the market to ride with the hype!

TeamGee Dual Motor Electric Skateboard

TeamGee has claimed that this is the thinnest electric skateboard in the market to date. Yes it is, sir. This electric skateboard is equipped with 15mm ultra-thin deck, weighing only 14.6 lbs. Teamgee is also one of the first to use a drop-through deck on an electric skateboard. Its deck is 15-20mm lower to the ground than most of the electric skateboards, which enables a more stable and confident riding experience. After our editors rode this beast, it truly delivers effortless and comfortable turning due to the board’s concave deck. The soft bushing also makes the board super nimble when it comes to making sharp turns. All in all, the riding experience is smooth and sturdy.

Teamgee Dual Motor Electric Skateboard key features:

  • 760W dual motor with 22MPH reach in the fast mode after startup
  • Hidden battery in deck
  • 90MM PU wheel providing excellent grip performance
  • Visualized driving data on the remote control – the status of the skateboard in the ride is clear at a glance
  • Headlight design of the remote control for safe night riding
  • Fully charged in only two hours

This electric skateboard is the convenience you’re looking for short commutes, cruising campus, and quick errands. If you’re an urban commuter that travels not more than 11 miles on a daily basis, I think you may settle on this board. It’s not the fastest out there but the speed is as good as it is. Please do note that this board can only accommodate a maximum weight of 200 lbs. Heavier riders could experience a not-so-enjoyable riding experience as it affects the battery life, range, and speed.

Boosted Stealth Electric Skateboard

The Stealth Electric Skateboard from Boosted is a top-notch choice. This one has five ride modes with a Hyper mode that reaches a thrilling top speed of 24 mph riding experience, and this mode is exclusive only with Stealth. During our ride test with this beast, it is fast yet it gives you as smooth as silk riding experience. For anyone who knows Boosted or have had the liberty to test ride not just their electric skateboards but their other lines, you know what we’re talking about. The engineering and ergonomics of this electric skateboard is really top-of-the-line.

Boosted Stealth Electric Skateboard key features:

  • 14 miles range
  • Super Flex composite deck for excellent flex and feel
  • 190mm trucks with increased strength in high-stress areas
  • 85mm wheel design with the right combination of grip, flex, and rebound
  • Regenerative brakes
  • 25% hill grade

Quality is what you’re paying for with this board, but I’m telling you right now that it’s not for everyone due to its pricepoint. Regardless, it is a sound and worthy investment if you’re feeling for an upgrade or you just simply want something faster. Lastly, how can you not love that sleek black finish?

Blitzart Huracane Electric Skateboard

For a more practical option and ideally for starters, go with this electric skateboard from Blitzart. It has a range of 6-8 miles in fully charged condition with a maximum speed of 17 mph. At first, I’m quite hesitant to include this one on the list but after my first test ride with this electric skateboard, it gave me more than what I expected. It rides sturdy and brakes reliably smooth. It is heavier though, but the deck’s design that leaves a space for the handle makes it much easier to carry around.

Blitzart Huracane Electric Skateboard key features:

  • Built with 6 layers of maple wood plus 2 layers of bamboo deck and premium grip tape
  • Supports a maximum weight of 250 lbs
  • 350W brushless hub motor
  • Various wheel color options Easy-to-grip remote control with wrist strap

If you’re on a tight budget, this board won’t disappoint. You’ll be up and roaming the streets in no time. The best bang for the buck is what it is.

Skatebolt Electric Skateboard

This electric skateboard from Skatebolt has a whooping performance of 25 mph maximum speed and 25% grade hill climbing. It has two ride modes you can choose from. Normal mode in 15 mph speed and sports mode in 25 mph speed. We test ride it using these two modes and it’s such a fun and heart-pumping experience. Mind you, the sports mode will satisfy your adrenaline rush. What made this electric skateboard more durable and stable is the high density 8 layers of maple wood. The wireless remote feels okay but the strap definitely adds some good and safe handling.

Skatebold Electric Skateboard key features:

  • Extended range 6600mAh, 36V Lithium battery
  • Regenerative braking that enables it to charge during braking and extends battery endurance
  • 18.6 miles maximum range
  • Dual riding speed modes
  • 500w hub motors
  • 280 lbs maximum weight capacity

This electric skateboard is a great match for your casual and sports riding requirements. Whether you’re a novice or an expert rider, this board will fit your riding style.

Boosted Mini Electric Skateboard

Looking for a smaller board option? Boosted got you covered. Their Mini Electric Skateboard gives you 20 mph riding experience that can climb hills of your commute without breaking a sweat. After our test ride, we couldn’t agree more. Despite the size, it feels as sturdy as the Stealth or the other larger electric skateboards we’ve tested. People are not used to these mini/shorter board types but the performance of this one from Boosted is actually a game-changer for me. For long electric skateboard riders like me, it will take time to get used to but once you’re in rhythm with this mini, there’s a good chance that you might invest for a mini one.

Boosted Mini Electric Skateboard best features:

  • 14 miles maximum range
  • Fully charged in only 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • 80mm forged trucks
  • The wheel’s flex profile is soft enough to handle road imperfections yet firm enough to provide excellent grip
  • 3 ride modes for beginners to pros
  • 1000W power

Given the board’s size that doesn’t compromise performance and quality, you can now have a board that you can literally bring anywhere.

Finding the right electric skateboard will only represent half of a rider’s character. The other half is all about road ethics and discipline. Before you hit the street, we’re leaving you with three things, (1) before riding, ensure that all your board’s components are intact without any trace of faulty mechanism, (2) respect and be mindful of everyone’s space in the road, including pedestrians, (3) and lastly, ride safe with proper protective gears. Ciao!
